Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was fun this year mainly because Afton was so excited! Her party (here) went well and everything else surrounding this holiday was fun and exciting!

She celebrated at school

The Valentine Man came and brought Afton this book. She loves Duck and Goose books!

And I got these beauties from my sweetheart! Brett and I always celebrate on the 15th because that was the day of our first date. This year we went to Red Lobster (my request) and walked around Fashion Place mall while we waited for our table. It felt weird walking around the mall, funny to think I used to love it! (The only reason we went there was to sell a phone but something was wrong and I ended up having to go back. At least I got a pretzel out of the next trip!)

Anyway, dinner was DELICIOUS! We even splurged on dessert. After dinner we walked across the bridge over the freeway and walked through the neighborhood where Brett grew up. It was fun to hear him talk about old friends and experiences. After that we drove by my old house and found the lot completely leveled.   It was kind of sad.

Christmas

Christmas was so much fun this year!!

Someone left these cute BYU shirts wrapped up on our porch! Afton was so excited and she was trying to mimic Maya's cute face. So funny!
I bought Afton a cute book about the story of Jesus and every other page was a stencil. Afton LOVED it!!
 Cute Christmas Tree
Fun painting of a wise man and a donkey
 LOVE these two
This year Afton was able to perform in the Learning Dynamic's Christmas Program. It was at the Legacy Center and my mom watched Maya while I went. Afton was a reindeer and her part was, the bells are shined. She did great.
 Afton loves Mrs. Mower
I kind of felt like a train wreck but it was the first time I'd been out in public since having Maya!
Afton and her friend Connor were cracking me up. They were goofing off, laughing, poking at each other and being so silly. (don't mind that ladies head)

For a gift Afton made Mrs. Mower a card and gave her a yummy candy bar. The card had a bunny in a garden full of carrots and vegetables.

I didn't send out Christmas cards this year but here were a couple I messed around with. Too much skin according to Brett. He's probably right.

Christmas Eve pj's. They looked small when I bought them even though they said 5T. They looked even smaller on. Oh well...
Strange thing at the Keetch's this year. Afton seemed so sad a lot of the night. She had this solemn face and I couldn't figure out what was going on.

First day of preschool, again

So Afton had a rough first day of school. She walked out the door with her head hung low and said the teacher wouldn't let her go to the bathroom. I didn't say much but tried to find out the positives hoping it wasn't that big of a deal. Sure enough the next day I picked her up and she ran straight to the bathroom at the school. She said her teacher wouldn't let her go again.

I wasn't sure what was going on but couldn't imagine her teacher not letting her go. I didn't want to talk about it too much because I wanted Afton to tell me what she was feeling without my opinion.

Well the next school day Afton said she had a headache and didn't feel well and couldn't go to school.
Ugh - at this point I asked the gal up front if we could switch back to Tuesday, Thursday. The waiting list for MWF is pretty big I guess so it was an easy switch. I asked Afton if she'd like to go 2 days a week and she was really excited. I said you'll have a new class and a new teacher but she didn't mind at all.

The next week she started again with Mrs. Mower. When I picked her up she was talking a mile a minute, started showing me all her work and she skipped all the way to the car!! Yay! I can't express how much this lightened my heart. I was feeling so sad.

She loves her new teacher and is excited again for school. She loves taking Mrs. Mower fresh apples from Grandpa Tom's apple trees!

1st day of preschool

I can't believe Afton is so big. She went to preschool last year (January through May) but this year she wanted to go 3 days a week. I'm not ready!!

My mom took her out to lunch and to buy a new outfit for school and Afton was so excited. I asked her if I could come and she said, no Mom. It's just me and Grandma! Tear....

I told Afton I 'had' to have a few first day of school pictures and she was so much fun! I just love her excitement and her big, big smile! She was so excited about her new dress and hat!!

The teacher was nice enough to let me sneak in and snap a few photos. Afton went right to work!

When school was out we picked up a yummy cookie and a doughnut and went home to talk about her day. Bear had to join us and I think Afton ate more of my doughnut than her cookie but it was so nice. I hope she'll always give me a minute to ask silly questions and tell her how much I love her.

Preschool Mother's Day program

Oh my gosh there is no way Afton is old enough to melt my heart in a Mother's Day program. I was so excited to go to her classroom and see what she'd been working on. My mom and Dad met me there and I loved every minute!!

I did cry when she sang the Mother song. I love her.

All my goodies!

Each child filled out a questionarre and Mrs. Santizo read a few lines outloud. Apparently I'm prettiest when I wear make up and my job is to work out!!

This cute little guy brought a flower for each momma.

I am the luckiest mom in the world!! Love my sweet baby more than anything!
