Battle Creek Falls

Today was the perfect day for a hike. It was late afternoon and the clouds were gathering in the sky. The temperature was around 85 but it didn't feel really warm.

Last time we attempted this hike it was Father's Day and Maya didn't make it very far. And by very far I mean 50 feet out of the parking lot. We were ready to attempt it again...

Afton was so excited to have her own camelback. I loved it too because she had a lot of water on the hike!

I forgot to bring my regular lens so you can't see the whole waterfall but oh well.

Maya was mesmerized by the waterfall. The wind was blowing her hair and the water was splashing onto her face. She loved it!

The rhythm of Brett's walking must have finally put Mymy to sleep. She was kicking her legs with excitement up until that point!

Hiking with grandpa

We love spending time with Grandpa. We are so lucky to have him and even more lucky he wants to hang out with us all the time. He is one of my best friends and Afton adores him.

Today we decided to grab some sandwiches and head up a little area around Dry Canyon. It's very easy and fun! We didn't make it very far but it was just what we needed. Fresh air and sunshine. Gramps joked around saying I had more fun than Afton which might be true!!

My little photographer

Hiking really isn't the right word because we rarely get to hike. We are usually running around, sometimes in circles, jumping on rocks and exploring our surroundings!

One of my FAVORITE smells in the world! I love fresh sage and I love that I can find it even on a snowy mountainside.

Maternity photos at Cove Fort

I was so glad I dragged Brett and Afton to Cove Fort for pictures today and kind of surprised at how many turned out. Afton is turning into a great little photographer and Brett is always a good sport. It's still hard to believe I am even pregnant and I love being able to have this experience one more time!! It's fun for Afton as well and she's so excited to be a big sister!

Hiking with Grandpa

We love hanging out with Grandpa and today was so much fun. We grabbed some food from Wendy's and ate in the jeep while driving up American Fork Canyon. This first spot was so colorful and Afton and Grandpa ran ahead to play in the leaves. Afton named it Color City.

Afton and Grandpa were playing hide and seek. I'm not sure who was having more fun...

Hiking Timpanokee and growing belly

Brett and I dropped Afton at a birthday party (still can't believe she's old enough to 'drop' off at a bday party) and headed up American Fork Canyon for a quick walk in the woods.

We went to the Timpanookee trail head and decided to hike for a little while. I was in my skirt and flip flops but it was a cool 70 degrees and the air felt so good! I had one man ask me what I was doing up there. He said I was going to put myself into labor. What?? I guess I can't exercise pregnant? Another man said I was carrying a heavier load than he was, haha. It's funny how people just say whatever they want when you're pregnant!

Anyway, we hiked to the meadow and Brett snapped a few photos on his phone. I can't believe I'm at this point and we're actually going to have a baby. Brett and I are in disbelief even with this growing belly.
