Oh my sweet sweet baby!

A Day With Dad!

I LOVE hanging out with Dad!
He lets me sit on his lap,

and helps me drink milk from a bottle!

He encourages my spit bubbles,

and even lets me borrow his hat!
Hanging out with Dad is fun!

Milestones

I can't believe my sweet baby is already over 18 weeks old.
These last few months have flown by and lasted forever!
Afton is growing up quickly and every milestone takes
her farther away from that tiny little newborn we brought home.
So...Afton is reaching out for
her toys, the couch, my hair, Brett's face,
and anything else that crosses her line of vision and we couldn't be happier
and sad at the same time.

Grandparents!

Grandma came over with some plastic containers to
help me organize my pantry. (I love my mom)
Afton got a hold of one container and the next thing you
know 30 minutes had gone by. Afton's
chubby, little, adorable
fingers fit perfectly into the spaces and she was content to
suck, lick,chew, gnaw, and drool
all over it. Grandma helped Afton until
she was done. Grandma ALWAYS does what Afton wants,

which is why hanging out with Grandma is so much fun!

Afton loves sitting on Grandpa's lap.
Grandpa is patient, kind, loving, and always ready to play.
I don't know what I would do without him!

Story time

One of our favorite stories is Over in the Garden.
I love the illustrations and the rhythm.
Afton loves it too, except for the SPIDER page.
This is also a fun book because you can sing the story!
Don't mind me and my sweet robe, I know I'm a hottie!

Feet

So... for Christmas Brett surprised me and bought a really nice camera. I have wanted one forever and my digital camera wasn't keeping up (although I've taken some nice pictures with it). I had my eye on a few different kinds and ended up with a Nikon. I LOVE IT! And I LOVE BRETT! I'd wondered what we were going to do with my last paycheck - thanks sweetie!

Having said that – Afton has developed an interest in her feet and how her feet touch the swing. As soon as I set her in the swing her cute little feet go right to the bars. She will push on the bars, slide her feet up and down, and kick so hard the swing stops moving. She provides me with hours of entertainment and I can't get enough of her (or her feet)!

Ten Things I Love - RIGHT NOW

Obviously my entire list could be of Afton
and the many reasons I love her but having
said that I am going to broaden my list to
include SOME items not baby related!

1. Anything Afton. (is that cheating?)

2. Nursing.

3. Not working.

4. Firsts. First smile, first laugh, first roll, (you get it)

5. Snuggling in my bed with Brett at night.

6. Hot chocolate in the morning.

7. Wearing my pj's more than I should.

8. Walmart tank tops, Big Star jeans, and American Eagle hoodies.

9. The internet (so I can stay somewhat connected to the world).

10. My camera.

Afton is 14 weeks old! She is getting so big!

Tummy time only lasts for a while.

Afton has become very aware of her fingers.
At times she is very distracted and goes cross-eyed
trying to get a good look!
She also loves holding burp cloths and blankets.

Merry Christmas!
We had a fun Christmas Eve with the
Keetch's and spent a relaxing
Christmas day with the Watrous family.
We loved waking up to Afton (our favorite
Christmas present). Actually, I woke up to
Afton, tied a big red ribbon around her
and then we got Brett out of bed. She is the
best gift we could ever receive!

Today is Brett's birthday!
He is getting old. I can say
that because I am the same age.
Those of you who know us - know
how old we are.
We had strawberry cake and
vanilla ice cream. This is Afton's
contribution! She loves her daddy!

What can I say? She makes every day worthwhile! Afton is the greatest gift Brett and I could ever receive. She is sleeping well, smiling, giggling, grasping our fingers, pulling my hair, grunting a lot (especially at night) and making us happier than we've ever been! I haven't gotten dressed in two months and my hair is a long (not on purpose) mess. I don't care about the dirty dishes in the sink or the obvious fact that I need to vacuum. We go through a ton of diapers and wipes and Afton's newborn clothes are already to small. It's been nine weeks of exhaustion, excitement,
worry, fear, a feeling that our hearts might burst with love, moodiness, tenderness, and so on.
In spite of everything, we can't imagine life without her!

Baby shower

This was my shower for Afton. Melis had it at her house. It was beautiful, the food was delicious and I received so many wonderful gifts! I still can't believe I am going to have a BABY! I am so blessed and excited and overwhelmed and huge! LOL

My cutest nephew Andrew was here from Phoenix to celebrate! Isn't he the cutest?

Jen with a brand new baby! Patricia, Wendy, Coke, Trena, Rachel, Janet, Marily, Lindsay, Grandma June. I missed getting photos of some friends but boy I felt loved!
