Way Back When

Way back when I was 29 I married my sweetie Brett. We didn't have any digital cameras at that point so I have been scanning my wedding photos. Once I find the time to scrap everything I am going to make a book! For now - here are some pictures!

Martin Sexton

I LOVE Martin Sexton! He is my height, looks like Jack Black (according to Nancy) and has the most unbelievable voice. He is and has been my favorite singer for years. I have seen him in concert so many times and I even have a picture of the two of us together. I will post it as soon as I find it!

He played at The Depot downtown and I went with my best girlfriends!

Nancy made friends with the security guard right away so as soon as the bottom area filled up he came and escorted us upstairs to a 'closed' section! We were right above the stage and had the perfect view! Not to mention we weren't bumping elbows with all the crazy (I mean crazy) fans!

I don't think I'm the only one with a crush anymore!

Way Back When

I am finally starting the 'way back when' portion of my blog. I love looking at old pictures and hope to scan and post as many as possible!

To start it off I am posting a picture of my hair. For years I had long straight hair and I loved it. The first time I colored my hair I was around 26.

Afton and grandpa's project!

Afton loves hanging out with grandpa. He always has a project going on and she the loves the hammers and drills!

Today they were adding a little railing for Afton just below the normal railing.

I made this little counting book for Afton for Easter.

Thrifty and recycled

Lately I have been excited about reusing something old to make something new. A few of my latest projects actually worked out well. One of my girlfriends gave me a cute frame with clothespins for Christmas and I ended up turning it into a bow holder for Afton's room. I wanted to make something similar for another girlfriend who is having a baby girl. I used an old frame to make this bow holder.

For the next project I wanted something cuter than what I was using to hold my markers, colored pencils, pens, etc. and so I used some old fish food containers. I love how they turned out! I need to make more!

I also wanted to share my latest Thrift Store find! I used to wander the thrift stores with one of my older brothers but I haven't been in years and thought I'd check it out! So glad I did!

I got all of this for 5$! Brand new! Can you believe it? 

Space for Afton

This is Afton's work area! It's set up right by my desk and has a little basket of toys and books underneath for when she tires of coloring!

Eventually she always ends up in my lap at the computer though!

Easter

Easter was so much fun this year! Grandma Watrous bought Afton a cute new dress and I made a really cute bow that Afton wouldn't even attempt to wear. :) Even still, Afton looked cute and I did get some shots with her bunny ears!

We started our day giving Afton her Easter basket. It was filled with gardening tools, apple juice, sunglasses, a little counting book (made by mommy), and lots of crinkly pink filler.
She pulled everything out and went right for the juice box! Yum!

Later that day we all took turns wearing the sunglasses. Afton loved taking them off and putting them on!

That night we went to my mom's house for Easter dinner and the kids had fun looking for eggs and eating the jelly beans inside. This was Afton's first experience with jelly beans and she LOVED it!

After that we went to the Keetch's for dessert and Afton had fun running around with her cousins!

Catching up

I haven't been spending a lot of time on my computer lately due to some hard drive issues. This has actually been a good thing because I have had time to organize my desk and craft area! I'm not finished but everything looks so much better and - I know where it is! Pictures to come!

I have also been doing a lot of crafty things! (he he) For some reason that cracks me up! I will have those pictures soon as well.

For now here are a few things that happened in the month of March! They aren't on this post but posted separately below!

Stowaway

Brett had to go to Denver last week for work and Afton wasn't about to let him go without her!

A girl, a stool, and a toothbrush

Two of Afton's favorite things are her stool and her toothbrush!
Combine these together and you've got one happy kiddo!

Grandma Watrous bought Afton this sturdy little stool so she could brush her own teeth, hair, etc. She loves watching herself in the mirror and I love watching her too! She's getting so big!

Around and around and around

Melis and I LOVE Thanksgiving Point! We like to eat in the little deli and the kids LOVE running around the grounds and spending time at Farm Country.

Afton loves the animals and loves to look at the horses but is hesitant to get too close. I was surprised she stayed on this little pony the entire ride and Holdy even gave her his extra ticket so she was able to go again! Thanks Holdy, we love you!

Cousins and fish

Tim was in town last month and he brought Afton's cousin Drew! We met at the Living Planet Aquarium and the kids had so much fun together! Drew is so loving and always had a big smile for his younger cousin. We already miss you Drew!
