Afton's 4th birthday party!

Afton was so excited for her birthday this year! She quickly decided on a 'purple rainbow unicorn' theme! Grandma Sandy made her shirt and the unicorn cake. Afton's cousin Jordan painted faces, and all the kids had fun eating pizza and running around the park!

I obviously couldn't choose just a few pictures but that's because I loved so many. Thanks to my mom, my sis and my sis in laws for helping me take pictures!

Afton's birthday at the Zoo!

Every year on Afton's birthday we go to the Zoo! Afton was looking forward to seeing the baby elephant and the new polar bear exhibit again. We were also excited to see the new baby giraffe.

Unfortunately the entire kid area was closed. No train, no playground, etc.

Afton did get a ride on the merry go round and loved showing her new unicorn all the cute animals.

Birthday breakfast!

Afton was so excited to turn 4! She talked and talked about it and I was really excited to wake up that day and make her a special breakfast. She loved the mini pancakes, the candle and the sprinkles!!
We should do that more often!!

Family pictures

I sure wish I could do family pictures more than once a year. Why is it so hard to choose colors, outfits, accessories, locations, and just get out the door? Sheesh

We met Judd and Tiff at Wheeler Farm again this year thinking we'd start on the side containing more trees and bushes. The only problem was that we were a little too late and everything wasn't as full and vibrant as I'd hoped.

We had fun wandering around though and the kids always make us laugh. Brett and I took the photos of each other with Afton and Tiff did the family shots!

The sky was a little flat and I haven't done a lot of editing (mainly because I was hoping to get new editing software but it didn't work out) but I wanted to get these on the blog regardless!

Oh and of course pig had to come along...

I love the last two shots because it shows how big Afton's gotten! My little sweetie!

American Fork Canyon Hike

We love American Fork Canyon. We don't like paying to get in, but we'll do it. The colors are gorgeous and there are several easy hikes for Afton to enjoy.

We made it farther than I thought we would today considering Brett's fractured ankle. (We didn't know it was fractured when we went, oops)

Afton loves bringing someone along on our adventures and today it was this little black puppy. :)

Afton loved laying on the rocks in the sun and we even talked someone into taking a family picture for us!

We kept hearing squirrels and Afton said Mom I just want to see one...

20 seconds later...

First snow

Afton is always telling me she loves sun and snow. Which is funny because it's the opposite of me. I love clouds and rain.

So needless to say Afton was thrilled when it started to snow last night. She ran out in last years coat, no hat, no gloves and her regular boots. Brett went with her and they sure had fun. The flakes were huge and Afton was in heaven! She and Brett threw snowballs at each other, the sliding glass door and if Afton's hands weren't so cold I'm sure they would have lasted much longer.

This first photo was last night with my phone and the rest were this morning!! We were outside first thing and Afton had even more fun because we managed to find some snow gear!

Lone Peak trail with Grandpa

Today was the perfect day for a hike. It was only in the 50's but once we got out of the car we realized we wouldn't even need our jackets.

We had fun collecting leaves, playing in the rocks and dirt, and stopping for treats along the way.

We found a huge apple tree and enjoyed eating some yummy apples. They were really good and a little hard to reach. Afton climbed up and Grandpa held her while she tried to grab a few. I ended up getting some with a little help from Dad.

As we were sitting around having a snack a man with a goat came walking down the hill. The goat was big and had packs on his back. The man had a gun strapped to his back and a pistol on his hip. It was very strange. He stopped to talk for a minute and then went on his way!
