Bike Parade

Today some of the girls in the ward hosted a bike parade for the neighborhood. Afton was really excited to join in on the fun. We made it to the church along with a lot of other people and one of the cute girls helped Afton tie a balloon and some streamers to her bike!

The younger kids were supposed to ride around a circle made out of cones while the older kids rode around the church.

Afton rode in circles for 20 minutes without any problems and somehow managed to crash at the very end when she and Brett were leaving the church parking lot.

Katie's baby shower

Today I was able to host a baby shower for my good friend Katie! She loved the 'ready to pop' theme and chose blues, greens, and grays as her color palette.

We had these really cool blue paper lanterns hanging above the table, a circle banner running the length of the ceiling and so much yummy food. I sent everything home with Katie at the end so she can hang it in the nursery! (Afton loved these blue lanterns and wants some pink ones for her room!)

Everything was open house and Katie didn't want any games but she did want name suggestions. I knew she loved mustaches (thanks Pinterest) so I had a glass jar with a vinyl mustache on the front to hold name suggestions. Each person wrote their suggestion on a mustache, posed for a photo and stuck it in the jar. It was fun after presents to listen to the suggestions! I wonder what she'll choose??

Girl's Camp

I was really excited to have the opportunity to go to Girl's Camp this year. I love my calling as the Beehive Teacher and was excited to get some quality fun time with the girls. The only night I really 'needed' to be there was on Tuesday the 24th but due to some complications at home and with it being a holiday I didn't go up until Thursday night.

I drove up with Cammie, the Young Women's President and Candi, the secretary. We drove up Provo Canyon and into Heber and the scenery was beautiful and it was fun to get to know those two a little more.

I sure got the stink eye when I first pulled out my camera but it didn't last long. No lack of personality here!

There were no campfires allowed this year so the girls made lanterns using glow in the dark stickers and paint. They had small lights (with a switch) inside at night. They were darling.

Delicious scones for dinner. Most of the girls had Navajo Tacos but I drenched mine in powdered sugar and honey!

I can't even remember the name of this game but I was sure having fun taking pictures. Whoever was in the middle had to dance and jump and do all sorts of commands given in the song.

And I love the look on my face (it's so me and I'm so lame) when one of the Laurel's took my camera (pried it from my fingers) and sent me to the middle. Can you tell I'm excited?? I had no idea she was snapping pictures. My kind of girl...

I had a really great time with the girls and the leaders. I loved listening to testimonies and I loved watching the girls support each other, goof around with each other and comfort each other throughout the night. Some girls were homesick, some were physically sick, some were tired, but they were all so sweet and caring. It was fun to take pictures and see their personalities shine through. Cute bunch of girls!

Oh my sweet little Afton! We went inside to find they don't carry a SINGLE thing with the name Afton on it. They said I could order something but it would cost around $1500 to make the mold. No thank you. They did however give Afton a nice big sample of bubble gum fudge!

I love spending time with my Mom. This little outing was for my birthday! My niece Clara and I share a birthday and we happened to have Tim's family and Dan's family all here that day. You can see more of that day HERE.

Silver Lake

This year it was raining as we were driving up the canyon toward Silver Lake. We decided to keep driving and this is what we found at the parking lot.





We decided to head into the little store for chocolate muffins and hot cocoa. It was so much fun sitting inside watching the rain!

Once it stopped we headed across the street and began our walk.




But the rain didn't stay away for long. Soon we were getting out our ponchos and Afton thought it was so much fun!




At one point we found a momma and baby moose. Afton loved the baby and it's always amazing to see how big these animals are in real life.






Afton kept calling this her turkey tail!
