Afton's bird outfit

Can I just start by saying my mom is AMAZING!!! You only have to mention an idea and she'll make it come to life! As soon as Afton knew she wanted a bird birthday (which was the day after her last bday) Grandma Sandy went to work on her wings.

Albion Basin

I really need (want) family pictures but have zero budget thanks to the growing bundle of joy in my belly!! So somehow I talked Brett and Afton into driving all the way to Albion Basin for a little photo shoot. I was hoping to get there in time for the flowers but we missed it. There were still many pretty flowers but not as thick as I'd hoped!

We found a spot to eat before pictures but Afton was beyond excited to be there and wasn't about to pose, smile or hold still for a photo. We managed to get a ton of cute pictures but no family shots that I felt show AK's personality. Just fake smiles and get me out of here looks. Oh well. 

Afton also brought her 'baby sister' with us and carried her around most of the time. She's going to be a great big sister!

Between multiple bathroom breaks by me and Afton and as many pics as everyone could stand we decided to hike to Cecret Lake. But someone forgot bug spray, a backpack and has Braxton Hicks contractions every 2 seconds so our hike didn't last long. 

We didn't start hiking on the main trail but decided to head back down on the correct path. And boy we were glad. As we rounded a corner I looked over to the trail we'd been on in the beginning and there was a moose. Right in front of the bushes which would have been right behind the bushes had we come back the way we'd gone up. I know we would have spooked it and who knows what could have happened so I was sure glad it worked out that way. I'd been keeping my eyes open for a moose hoping we'd find one and was so glad we did!!! Afton loved it!

Silver Lake

Silver Lake is always a fun place to visit. Last time we went (here) it was raining and raining. We LOVED it but it was nice to walk around in the sunshine today!!

Obviously my belly is getting ahead of me...

Kiddo won't smile for me anymore. She'll look for about 1/2 second and then it's gone. Luckily she's cute whether or not she's looking at the camera!

There aren't many flowers this time of year but the ones we saw were very pretty!


I love watching Afton drink from a water bottle. She puts the ENTIRE bottle in her mouth, even it it's big like Gatorade. I think I would choke! Hehe







Afton kept wandering up into the trees and at one point she was stuck and couldn't get back to the trail. As Brett reached for her a branch cracked and it scared her so she jumped. She ended up scraping her foot and needed some extra Daddy time and attention.  But it didn't last long...
